What Does the Bible Have to Say About Health and Diet.?
To begin with lets summarize what we are going to address in this article.
1: What does the Bible have to say about diet.
2: What should we avoid?
3: What should we eat?
4: Exercise
5: Supplements and vitamins
In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 God gave dietary laws which when carefully examined prove to be a health diet equal or better than anything espoused by Dr. Oz or Dr. Joseph Mercola. First of all I need to emphasize that the Mosaic diet has no relationship to the modern kosher diet . Jesus attitude towards the kosher diet can be seen when he made a whip and drove the money changers out of the temple. The kosher diet is a business invented by greedy Rabbi's. Food companies pay them to pray over their food products and now they are proclaimed to be kosher even though these products blatantly violate the Mosaic dietary laws.
Do I need to eat the Mosaic diet to get into Heaven? Emphatically no, but I'll make it into Heaven a lot sooner if I don't eat it. The best source for information on why I should eat according to the guidelines of the Mosaic Diet and also the Daniel diet is Author Jordan Rubin. You can find his books in most libraries. The Mosaic diet literally saved his life.
When you compare the Mosaic diet to the best available diets espoused by alternative physicians and nutritionists you find that it is very similar although generally stricter. First of all it is organic. All food was organic back then. Also God taught moderation. Trim the excess fat from the meat. The diet also prohibits eating scavengers and predators. Those animals lack a liver and what they eat is not detoxified. If a pig is hungry enough it will eat it's own feces. If you eat the pig it may taste good but guess what you are eating. Eating pig feces doesn't turn me on.
God also instructed the Israelis to let the land rest every 7 years so that it could recover and not become depleted of nutrients.
So what should we eat? The Mosaic diet and the Daniel diet is a good starting point but we also need to deal with a couple of problems. In modern industrial farming they aren't letting the land rest every 7 years. As a result the vegetables lack many nutrients even if they are organic. The FDA is also letting them use additives and still call the food organic. The vegetables are picked before they are ripe so that they don't spoil during shipping. If they aren't organic you are also getting a good doze of pesticides, GMO's and chemicals.
When you eat meat that is not organic they have been given growth hormones and fed a completely unnatural diet, usually genetically modified corn because it is Government subsidized and cheap. So what do you need to do to stay healthy. If at all possible follow the Mosaic diet and the Daniel diet and go organic.
Also it's important to avoid most prepared meals and canned foods. They are loaded with harmful additives. Fast food restaurants are even worst. One good example is McDonald's use of a chemical in some of their food that is used to make rubber. Their food is so unnatural that if you leave it out sitting on the table it won't rot. Evidently mold, bacteria and bugs are too intelligent to eat the stuff. We are the only ones dumb enough to eat it. Most foreign countries will no longer accept imports of our food products.
How about foods that are labeled natural. Feces and arsenic are natural so I wouldn't put much trust in that term. It,s use is just an advertising gimmick.
In addition I use herbs, vitamins and supplements to make sure that I am getting every thing that I need to stay healthy. If you buy them locally the cost can be prohibitive so I suggest buying them online.
